Cuba's eastern region and known as "balcony of the east".
Capital: Las Tunas (city)
The topography of the province is mostly plain. Along the
north coast there are several bays among which is worth-mentioning
the bay of Puerto Padre, one of the most important of the
country. The coastal zones are low, swampy, and populated
by thick mangrove-tree communities. Economical activity is
characterized by agriculture, especially sugarcane production,
and cattle raising. Industry is represented by mining and

We should be happy for the sculptures in the ‘city of sculptures’, all providing innovative, much-needed visual appeal across Las Tunas’ dreary city center. The word Tuna means Danube in Turkish and some unofficial†suggestions†assume that there may have been some Turkish influence in the city. The City of Las Tunas was founded in the 1750s, but was never more than a rickety marketplace town until Las Tunas was declared a province in 1975 and therefore needed a provincial [...]

The Las Copas Ice Cream Parlor in Las Tunas is a magnet for locals and tourists alike and a great place to socialize and meet people. Get ready to queue up with your Cuban pesos for large banana sundaes or the local special called tres gracias meaning three scoops. El Baturro is the Las Tunas equivalent of the Bodegita del Medio in Old Havana. Much like its Havana based homologue, diners make their presence known by writing short messages on the restaurants walls. Therefore, the walls are covered in scribbled prose, love notes and even some eulogies to the murdered Chilean troubadour Victor Jara. But El Baturro is not just a gimmick; the food is exceptional and better than average Cuban cooking, including a mouthwatering rabbit dish, making this [...]
